DPS Social: Mechanical bird puppet making

Gather around the benches, join the flock and discover the art of puppetry to create a unique mechanical bird sculpture.

Under the guidance of our artisans at our Fabrication Workshop, you will choose the colour of your bird's body and wings and then observe the material cut out on the laser cutter, seeing first-hand how our artisans incorporate laser-cutting technologies to build puppets and props for stage productions. You will then assemble your feathered friend inside a dome case. Gain an insight into the basic principles of puppet design, and learn how to bring your bird to life on its miniature stage using a minuscule mechanism.
