Blue Morpho Butterflies

Back to Collection

Our Blue Morpho Butterflies were designed for our production The Wider Earth to feature in a lavish scene where the young Charles Darwin first encountered the wonders of the Amazon rainforest. Cut from solid copper using the original hand-drawn designs, the butterflies have been arranged on a piece of driftwood and treated with a solution to promote oxidisation, turning them lucid blue.
